Sphinx Academy strongly believes that community service is more than a log with a number of hours on it. The school will consistently help the students understand the meaning of service and to reflect on their service projects and discuss them. Our goal is for students to realize that service does not mean providing help to those who are less than they are, just less fortunate.
Sphinx Academy creates an abundance of opportunities for students to be involved in the community and at the school. In previous years, our students served lunch at the Hope Center, provided after school help to elementary students at the Village Branch Library, and kept a community garden at the Peace Meal Gardens at BCTC. We hope that our program will continue to help our students develop a habit of service that will last long after they have logged in their necessary hours, and that they will continue to have a lasting impact on any community they are a part of.
